The identity of the Aussie superstar set to perform alongside Katy Perry at the AFL Grand Final has been revealed, and it’s none other than [spoilers] Tina Arena!
For the past few days, Perry has been teasing her mysterious Aussie guest star, and now it appears the Daily Mail has uncovered the truth.
An insider suggests Tina Arena has been enlisted as “a special guest” and has been “discreetly preparing her setlist over the last week.”
Currently, it remains unclear which songs Arena will perform or whether she will appear before the game, during the halftime show, or after the match.
Nevertheless, the insider revealed that AFL organisers aim to replicate the success of the 2023 AFL Grand Final, where Robbie Williams and Delta Goodrem took the stage together.
Initially, the plan was reportedly to feature Kylie Minogue as the primary Aussie star, but when that plan fell through, organisers turned to Arena. Another Australian artist set to perform is Cody Simpson, who will sing the national anthem before the game begins.

Perry hinted at her secret Aussie collaboration during an appearance on Sunrise this week.
“There’s going to be a surprise performance featuring a beloved Australian artist whom I admire,” she shared with the hosts.
“She will sing a little with me, and I will sing a little with her. I’ve been sworn to secrecy, kept under wraps, locked up, chains, the whole lot.”
The fact she mentioned “Chains” in her little speech had fans buzzing, as we all know that’s the title of one of Arena’s most famous songs.

The 143 singer dropped another hint on The Project, revealing her special AFL Grand Final guest was a Scorpio. Coincidentally, Arena is indeed a Scorpio, born on November 1, 1967! So this aligns perfectly with all the other clues we have.
Perry is set to perform five of her hits during her impressive AFL Grand Final show, and according to the Herald Sun, she’ll earn a substantial $5 million. Just a casual million per song, nothing too major!
No wonder the AFL wanted Perry to perform her biggest hits.
