Jeff 'J Attack' Dunne Reacts To Rachael Gunn's Olympic Games Performance With IG Story Reshare

Australian B-Boy Jeff ‘J Attack’ Dunne appears to have offered his thoughts on fellow Aussie breaker Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn‘s performance at the Olympic Games, and it seems there was definitely some shade thrown!

In case you missed it, Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn has been the talk of the town over the past week after her performance in the Olympiad Paris 2024’s Women’s Breaking event.

With Breaking finally making its debut at the Olympic Games, many anticipated a Jabbawockeez / Step Up style performance. However, viewers were taken aback by Raygun’s performance, with the 36-year-old B-Girl bringing a distinctive twist to break dancing.

Despite her originality, Raygun scored zero in all her rounds, leaving her off the podium. Her groundbreaking appearance at the Olympic Games, however, ignited a whirlwind of memes and X (formerly Twitter) essays online. It even reached a level where Jimmy Fallon parodied it on his late-night show.

Upon the return of the Australian Olympians, it seems that fellow Team Australia breaker, 16-year-old Jeff Dunne, has reacted to the global response to Raygun’s Olympic performance.

In a now-expired Instagram Story repost, Jeff shared a video with a substantial amount of text about his own Olympic Games performance. Before diving into the content, remember that the Men’s Breaking Event occurred after the Women’s event.

RayGun’s Family Speaks Out About Her Low Olympic Score: ‘They Did Not Award Originality’

The post read: “POV: You spam button to redeem your country.”

Following the initial text, another person commented on Jeff’s performance, praising the Filipino Australian for his achievements at the Olympic Games.

“Bro, imagining REDEEMING your ENTIRE COUNTRY’S REPUTATION as a 16 year old!?” the text in purple highlight reads.

“At Olympics!? In BREAKIN!? After bad internet PR? & Bro just woke up & CHEWED UP all that pressure!?

“That’s. The. Realist. Shih. I’ve. Ever. Witnessed. In. Hip Hop.”

The B-Boy himself did not add any further comments or statements about his teammate’s performance. However, I feel this repost gives us insight into his true feelings regarding the media frenzy surrounding Team Australia.

Breaking Judge Explains Why Rachael Gunn Scored Zero Points In Her Controversial Olympic Debut

Rachael herself has yet to address the memes and jokes. However, her father-in-law Andrew reportedly stated that the Olympic Games Breaking judging panel did not award points for Raygun’s originality, which explains the zeros across the board.

“It was a highly competitive event, and the judges were clearly seeking a specific style of breaking, which isn’t Rachael’s,” he reportedly commented in what appears to be a now-deleted remark, according to Daily Mail.

“Although they are supposed to evaluate five different aspects with equal weight, in my clearly biased opinion, they did not reward originality and musicality, so she faced a challenge.”

Honestly, I’m eager to hear Raygun’s thoughts on the memes she’s received, as well as the growing speculation about her representation of Australia.

Hopefully, she’ll release an official statement soon, perhaps expressed through dance.
